Nina and James’s dreamy Australian wedding blended low-key boho vibes with totally personal details! The couple’s ceremony and reception was held at the campgrounds of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, which is also where their family and friends comfortably camped out during the wedding weekend. From the floral design by the bride’s mom to the potluck dinner provided by all of the wedding guests, we love how every inch of this wedding was DIY! Nina wore a breathtaking gown from Spell & The Gypsy Collective that featured bohemian lace and a stunning open-back design.

A Harbourside Soiree In Sydney - The Lane

New Blog Featured on The Lane this week:

An engagement prolonged by the blissful arrival of the couple's two children, Nik and Janice were finally wed after four years of planning. Finding sentimental detail in every element, the couple exchanged vows beneath the domed ceilings of the St Francis of Assisi Church in Paddington, Janice walked down the aisle by her father who had flown in from Singapore the night before.

With a gown inspired by Grace Kelly and hair reminiscent of the Marchesa runways, Nik and Janice’s wedding was driven by style. Set between superyachts and harbour views, their Walsh Bay reception hall was moodily lit in subdued hues. Candlelight danced off exposed brick walls and gilded mirrors, foliage fell from oak tables and vintage records were played on classic turntables.

Beauty in the Raw – Elemental Inspiration

Beauty in the Raw – Elemental Inspiration “Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on simplicity.” It was this quote by Plato that inspired the Sydney-based creatives behind this shoot.

Monique Kate Creative tells us the idea was to keep things simple and let the effortlessness of the raw elements speak for themselves to deliver something natural and real. Jason Corroto’s dramatic and candid style of photography was the perfect match for Monique’s creativity.

Hard elements such as stone and concrete are tempered by lush greenery and soft fabrics, including a dreamy handmade crochet gown by MKC Couture. With the addition of vibrant blooms and an earthy setting featuring a Kombi from Kombi Weddings, the images evoke a youthful passion and freedom of spirit.

Ryan & Kate - Nouba Feature

Ryan & Kate's DIY beach wedding was a no-brainer for the central coast couple, who chose to hold their ceremony on the shore at Killcare Beach, a favourite spot of theirs.
“We wanted to make the ceremony very casual,” shares Kate, “so we said our own vows and included our dog, Tyson in the ceremony.” They crafted a driftwood arbour and Kate’s mum showed off her floristry prowess, adorning it in an incredible tropical foliage arrangement. Superstar mum also styled the reception space at Horizons Killcare, pulling together a gorgeous backdrop of lush greenery, fairy lights and draped fabric.

Horizons was perfectly located by the beach so guests didn’t need to travel far post-ceremony. If Kate and Ryan could give one piece of advice to others tying the knot, it’d be to steal away together to really savour the day. “Make sure you get a moment to spend just with your love, so you can look around and remember the moment and all the people who love you.”
